Abstract

        Titled “the Structure of Narration and its Functions in Popular military expeditions texts : the case of Oued Sibsane military expedition,” this study seeks to uncover the nature and the characteristics of narrative discourse in “Oued Sibsane military expedition.” It sheds light on the characteristics of this structure and the methods of its construction in terms of words and structures. It also focuses on showing how its artistic construction impacted its addressees. The study equally emphasizes the different functions related to it. This research, thus, aims to determine the characteristics and the functions of the narrative structure in “Oued Sisbane military expedition” and the functions performed by this structure. To do so, the study aims to provide answers to the following questions: what are the characteristics of narrative discourse structure in Oued Sibsane military expedition? What functions are performed by this structure? To what extent does the story structure contribute to inform and impact? How does this operate? And is it possible to infer some embedded values in the story?
