Abstract
This article revolves around the question of the definition of philosophy, a problem that has been raised by various ancient and contemporary philosophers, from Heraclitus to Habermas. Despite philosophers' sensitivity to the definition itself, it has become a philosophically significant quest that has sparked controversy and debate, revealing a difficulty akin to a semantic maze. Although philosophy is a 'practice' that has no end in itself, the purpose of philosophy lies in its formative and evaluative value for critical thinking
