The Relationship between Christian Parenting, Lecturer Personality Competence, and Involvement of Academic Supervisors with the Christian Character of Tarutung State Institute for Christian Studies Students

Abstract

This study aims to  analyze the relationship between Christian parenting style and student Christian character; analyze the relationship between lecturer personality competence and student Christian character; analyze the relationship between the involvement of academic supervisors and the Christian character of students; and analyze the relationship between Christian parenting, lecturer personality competence, and involvement of academic supervisors together with student Christian character Tarutung State Institute for Christian Studies. The method used in this study uses a Quantitative approach using inferential descriptive statistical data analysis. This study consists of four variables, namely: bound variable (Y): Christian character of students, independent variable (X1): Christian parenting, independent variable (X2): Competence of lecturer personality, independent variable (X3). The target population of this study is all 210 students in the fourth semester of Christian Education Department. The determination of the number of samples in this study was 32% of all students in the fourth semester of the Christian Education Department totaling 210, then the total number of samples was 68 people. The determination of sampling is by random sampling. The type of instrument used to collect data is a closed questionnaire. To measure response answers, a Likert scale is used which has four answer choices. The results of data analysis show that in general there is a relationship between independent variables and dependent variables, and based on data analysis statistical calculations in hypothesis testing have proven that the four hypotheses proposed are accepted as true.
