Textual equivalence in translation between language and discourse

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to define the concept of textual equivalence in translation from the perspective of both linguists and translators. The importance of this research topic lies in presenting a clear and accurate picture of this concept, which took other dimensions, especially with the development of linguistic theories, and the development of translation theories at the theoretical and applied levels, and thus trying to highlight the concept of textual equivalence in the translation process, in terms of the variation of the concept between the language and the discourse. And because its importance is reflected in being a measure of the success or failure of translation.
