Enlightenment of Ibn Rushd from Islamic to Latin context

Abstract

This study seeks to contribute to the cultural and civilizational debate of the Dialogue (Orient/Occident), as elaborated in the writings of those concerned with the problems of the relationship between current knowledge, scientific achievement and philosophy, in the Arab-Islamic cultural heritage of Andalusia. Especially after the research into this relationship became promising, given the role played by the translation of Ibn Rushd's literature in enriching the rational culture in Europe. This is through his extensive explanations, on a number of Aristotle essays, as his annotations on the famous L essay, and what he called the great explanation on the book “About Soul” by Aristot.
