Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to understand the impact of social media on marital relationships by focusing on
Facebook as a model. It analyzes its manifestations and social dimensions, ultimately formulating
a future vision to develop social networks within the family. This will contribute to establishing
scientific mechanisms to manage its effects on the marital life of couples. The study was conducted
on a group of families in the province of Béchar, using a questionnaire as a tool for data collection.
Among the results, it was found that Facebook weakens marital relationships due to misuse,
negatively affecting the couple’s life by reducing dialogue and discussion within the home, leading
to marital infidelity. Additionally, Facebook use contributes to the exchange of knowledge, staying
updated with daily news, and being utilized for scientific, cultural, educational, and economic
purposes.
