The contributions of the human sciences to the formation of a critical Arab mind in light of the consequences of modernity flows and the authority of the heritage

Abstract

This article aims to reveal the contributions of the human sciences to restructuring a critical Arab mind and enabling it to acquire the necessary critical tools in order to provide a correct reading of the contemporary changes produced by modernity and a sound understanding of heritage without any intellectual or dogmatic extremism. Among the results reached is that the Arab mind There is still a relative backwardness in this scientific field in its various specializations compared to the material sciences, and this matter has made it suffer from intellectual dependency in the applications of human sciences methods and theories without taking into account the social nature and special circumstances of Arab societies. His preoccupation with presenting different positions towards heritage within the framework of that historical confrontation with the West caused him to abandon his primary function,which is to search for new approaches that delve deeper into studying the nature of this heritage
