The Author’s intentionality and indicators of intention in the poem “The Unknown Prophet” by Al-Shabbi

Abstract

The post-structuralist linguistic study has gone beyond considering the system aspect of language to focus on the dynamic communicative aspect, as it is an effective means of stimulating social interaction between members of the linguistic group. This will not be achieved through empty speeches as much as it is reinforced by the speaker’s intention and the listener’s acceptance, which is what modern linguistic and philosophical theories have concluded, which confirm that every action is an event due to an internal factor framed by the speaker’s intention, which is a criterion that, along with other textual criteria, forms the textual structure.
