Roman Military Defense Installations in Ancient Maghreb

Abstract
Ancient Maghreb experienced the arrival and succession of several civilizations and waves of
occupation, including the Roman occupation of the region. The Romans extended their influence,
facing numerous local revolts opposing the occupation. To counter these attacks and maintain their
control, the Romans established many military defense installations in the area. In this
presentation, we will highlight the key Roman military defense structures in the Maghreb and the
reasons for their establishment.
