Abstract

The research presents the issue of how sports can impact the integration of
individuals with mobility impairments into society, through a field study
conducted on a sample of physically disabled individuals. While many view
sports as a form of entertainment, it is actually considered a key element in
enhancing willpower and determination among people with special needs.
It also involves improving psychological well-being, supporting self
confidence, and reducing levels of anxiety and depression. Moreover, it
empowers them to achieve social integration and foster a sense of
belonging and participation, creating a supportive social environment.
Engaging in sports activities helps build friendships and enhances the
sense of belonging to the community. By taking part in these activities,
individuals can develop their social skills, increase communication
opportunities, and experience mutual support, which decreases feelings of
