Copyright on the Internet in the Context of Private International Law

Abstract
The topic of copyright protection under private international law addresses the legal challenges posed by the internet, including issues related to the applicable law and the competent jurisdiction for disputes concerning copyright.
The internet is considered a modern medium that facilitates rapid information exchange, thus easing international transactions related to copyright. However, these transactions raise legal problems concerning the determination of dispute resolution rules and the jurisdiction of the relevant courts. The article reviews
the principle of conflict of laws as a means to identify the appropriate law for these disputes and discusses the necessary judicial jurisdiction in such cases. Additionally, it proposes some alternative solutions for resolving disputes, thereby enhancing international cooperation and contributing to more effective copyright protection.
