The Algerian cultural heritage in Na'ili folk poetry -an approach to aesthetic and historical values-

Abstract

Folk poetry has deep roots in Arab culture in general and Algerian culture in particular, and thus it was a mirror that depicted a large part of the cultural heritage that distinguishes society, thus reflecting the depth of its authenticity and the breadth of its culture. It also showed the strength of the ties that exist between its individuals, as it depicted the nature of relationships, the way of life, and the cultural heritage of customs and traditions, and was preoccupied with a large part of historical exploits and heroism.This study came to shed light on the importance of popular poetic discourse - specifically Na'ili - and to reveal the social and historical values that poets included in their poems, trying to answer several problems, including: What is the effect of the social environment on the construction of the popular poem? What are the social values that were manifested in it? How did popular poetry contribute to documenting the history of society (the throne) and its customs and traditions?
