Psychological empowerment among school and vocational guidance and counseling counselors

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the level of psychological empowerment among school and career guidance counselors – a field study at the School and Career Guidance Center in Bou Saada, and to examine the significance of differences in psychological empowerment attributed to the variables (gender – experience – job rank). To achieve the study's objectives, the descriptive method was used, and the Psychological Empowerment Scale by Spreitzer (1995) was applied to a sample of school and career guidance counselors at the Messila and Bou Saada Guidance Centers. The sample consisted of 114 guidance counselors, selected randomly. After statistical analysis, the following results were obtained: - The level of psychological empowerment among school and career guidance counselors is high. -There are no statistically significant differences in the level of psychological empowerment among school and career guidance counselors attributed to gender or job rank, while there are differences based on experience, favoring those with 6-10 years of experience.
