Psychological stress and its relationship to the motivation to achieve among secondary school teachers - a field study in some secondary schools in Boumerdes

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the nature of the relationship between psychological stress and achievement motivation among secondary school teachers in several high schools in the Boumerdes Province. The sample consisted of 107 teachers, including 49 males and 58 females, who were randomly selected. The study utilized scales measuring psychological stress and achievement motivation. The findings indicated a statistically significant positive correlation between
psychological stress and achievement motivation among secondary school teachers. Additionally, the study revealed statistically significant gender differences in psychological stress, with observed differences between male and female secondary school teachers. However, no statistically significant gender differences were found in achieving motivation between male and female teachers.
