Problems of Linguistic Terminology: Between Wavering Formulations and Anxiety of Use

Abstract

Modern linguistics, like other sciences, suffers from problems related to the availability of  foreign scholarship to Arab researchers working on language and style, as well as the methodological methods that guarantee the follow-up of the rapid and amazing scientific development that the Western world is experiencing in various fields. Perhaps the most prominent of these problems is the "linguistic term" as it is a foreign product that was transferred to the
consumption of the Arab reader as it was found in its source. There is no doubt that the relationship between the formulation of the term and its use is very strong, and ignoring it was among the reasons that led to what is called the crisis of linguistic terminology in Arab culture, where improvisation, misunderstanding, and the multiplicity of what corresponds to the same term...replaced the unification of efforts. These manifestations created chaos in linguistic terms and confusion in their handling and use. All of this invites us to ask a number of questions: Why does the Arab researcher encounter the chaos of using the same term? Wasn't the term originally based on agreement?
