Abstract
One of the most important topics that the Arab critical study has focused on for a long time is (the artistic image) in literary discourse through research into its
concept, elements, and means of formation. Opinions in the Arab heritage have agreed that it is summed up in the sum of graphic images on which Arabic rhetoric is based. The research extended to modern studies, but the concept of the image had broader dimensions, because it went beyond the scope of the partial image to a broader space, which is what the Arab critic Sayyid Qutb sought to research within the framework of a new critical theory based on the pictorial structure. He applied it to the Qur’anic discourse, focusing on the Qur’anic contents based on this expressive system.
