Abstract

This study seeks to explore the reception strategy of classical Arabic poetry through the transition from an artistic vision to religious sanctity, with a focus on the poetry of Abu Nuwas and Abu al Atahiyya as primary models. The research begins by analyzing the artistic and aesthetic dimensions in the poetry of these two poets and how readers received these dimensions during the Abbasid period. It then delves into the transition to the concept of religious sanctity, examining how religious and ascetic contexts influenced the reception of the texts of Abu Nuwas and Abu al-Atahiyya, and how some of their poems were framed within religious concepts that transcend a purely artistic vision
