Abstract

The antiquities discovered in organized excavations or through sudden discoveries are an important source in the history and identity of countries.Therefore, Algeria has sought to protect and preserve them from all the dangers facing it. Through this article, we will discuss the most important national decrees
(Law 04/98) in addition to other charters or international organizations, such as: the Venice Charter and the Convention for the Protection of the Underwater
Cultural Heritage (UNESCO), in addition to the most important provisions that came out of the General Conference of the United Nations in Paris. All of these
laws and provisions fall within the scope of preserving the discovered heritage and passing it on to future generations in the best possible condition .
