Abstract
Anthropology is considered the most appropriate social science for historians because anthropologists and historians face many common problems. Whereas
history is concerned with the past of peoples over certain periods of time,anthropology analyses and explains the social systems of these peoples.Although anthropology in the context of European colonialism placed the peoples of the colonies outside of history, by the mid-19th century there was an urgent need to study the peoples of the colonies anthropologically.
