Abstract

Playing is an activity that people love, regardless of their age, because it provides them with pleasure, entertainment, and a waste of excess energy. One of its benefits is that it keeps the body fit, but some consider it a waste of time and effort with no significant benefit. The second group considers it to be very beneficial, as it contributes to the development of skills, the acquisition of new information, and an increase in experience, which contributes to their mental and physical growth and development. We are supporters of the latter opinion, as playing is not just fooling around, and we specifically wanted to invest it in teaching Arabic by practicing a set of exercises called "language games." The subject of our research paper was "Developing the linguistic ability of preparatory class children through linguistic games." After discussing the theoretical aspect of the basic concepts related to the subject,we discussed the field study in which we relied on examining schools, observing children during the class, and collecting information through a questionnaire directed to experienced teachers, then analyzing it in order to reach results and recommendations.
