Abstract

This study seeks of touch upon the dimension of struggle in the novelist discourse of Mohamed Deeb in general and in the Algeria trilogy ( the Big house, the loom, the Fire) in particular, where committed national literature played a prominent role in introducing the national issue in the period of French colonialism, and Algerian immigrant literature was the first to do so. Who accompanied and supported the liberation revolution, and was known for it outside the country and in the world, and to answer the problem of the study at hand: what is the struggle dimension embodied in the novelist discourse of M Algeria trilogy? From which several sub – questions branch out, including: what is commitment? Did Mohamed Deeb's Algeria Trilogy contribute to defining the national issue during French colonialism?.
