Abstract

The emergence of autobiography as a fully-fledged literary genre dates back to the modern era. It allows the writer to convey the details and their facts, which is what the woman invested in portraying the conflict existing between her and the male other, freeing herself from the obsessions of realistic writing that she used to frequent. This is what we aim for through our research paper titled: Arab feminist autobiography between the realization of the ego and the centrality of the other (on the bridge between life and death by Bint al-Shati as an example), which depicted for us the male oppression from which she suffered, and the female cultural contribution to society. By embodying the role model woman and defining her identity and role in the civilizational movement according to an Islamic perspective.
