Abstract

The Linguistic Atlas is considered one of the most important achievements in the field of geographical linguistics, as this work is
based on the study of different languages and dialects, a descriptive field study based on the actual and daily use of those
languages and dialects by their speakers. This allows the student to recognize the characteristics and advantages of each
language from another, and to identify the similarities and differences between them. Through this research paper, we aim to
examine the linguistic atlas in terms of concept, the most famous theories that have worked in its field, the most important
methodological and theoretical foundations on which it is based, and the basic terms it addresses, and to highlight its role in
enriching linguistic studies.
