Abstract

    The aim of this contribution is to propose a new perspective of Anglo-Arabic multilingual education in Algeria based on translinguaging. To that end, we will look at the linguistic landscape in Algeria. Currently, Arabic, French and English are the three languages taught in schools. Until 2022, although Arabic and French have been widely used in everyday life through codec alternation. These two languages are often used interchangeably. After this date, thanks to a new linguistic policy, English gained momentum and occupied a new first foreign language status instead of French. There are many reasons, and the key argument is to promote international communication that better responds to the demands of the new world. In this context of reflection, and in the light of what we have just mentioned, we raise the issue of the implementation of bilingual Anglo-Arab education through the translanguaging of English to Arabic and the transcultural in school in Algeria.
